Certification
In August 2008, MHBK was one of the first insolvency administration law firms in Germany, and the first in Bavaria, to be certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and InsO 9001. In connection with the certification, Müller-Heydenreich Beutler & Kollegen developed and implemented an extensive, individual quality management system (QMS). The system covers in particular detailed documentation on all process steps in all stages of a successful insolvency administration.
In view of the considerable time pressure and large number of tasks that have to be mastered, well organized procedures are absolutely essential. A tightly organized way of working based on sound planning is necessary to achieve the given objectives on a timely basis. Structuring matters that are often multi-layered requires combining knowledge of insolvency law and business management with specific industry experience.
In addition to comprehensive documentation, the system includes error, improvement and risk management features. The QMS is continuously improved by internal quality assurance and is subject to regular independent reviews. This helps the firm to improve the quality and efficiency of its work on an ongoing basis and to avoid mistakes.
The new quality management system secures the firm's know-how from decades of legal and in particular insolvency work and makes all procedures transparent internally and externally. As the Insolvency Code provides few criteria for the qualification of an administrator and the quality of the work performed by insolvency administrators is therefore difficult to measure, transparency is a key quality criterion.
